Abstract: |
Family visitors are key audiences for museums. Conversations between parents and children during visits can enhance children's scientific and humanistic literacy. This paper analyzes the designing concept, development process, teaching strategies and assessment results of the “YEAH KIDS-themed routes” conducted at the Shanghai Natural History Museum. Additionally, this study investigates a design pattern of self-guided tour for family visitors in museums, which aims to facilitate the generation of parent-child dialogue, provides support for parents as a means, and integrates the pre-visit & during-the-visit & post-visit stages of educational programs. |
