| 杨锺健是我国著名的地质学家、古生物学家、博物馆学家。他是我国古脊椎动物学的开拓者和奠基人,也是世界最杰出的古脊椎动物学家之一。他一生的科研领域几乎涵盖了古脊椎动物学的各个领域,其中重点是中国古爬行动物和古哺乳动物的研究,以及中生代—新生代地层的研究,一生发表科研著述670余篇(部)。他还是中国自然史博物馆事业的开拓者,对该领域的开创和发展产生了深远的影响。杨锺健在我国的地质古生物研究、自然史博物馆事业发展、人才培养和科学普及等方面都做出了非凡的贡献。 |

| Yang Zhongjian is a famous geologist, palaeontologist and museologist in China. He is a pioneer and founder of vertebrate palaeontology in China, and also one of the world's most outstanding vertebrate paleontologists. In his lifetime, his scientific research covered almost all fields of vertebrate palaeontology, with a focus on the study of fossil reptiles and fossil mammals in China, as well as the study of Mesozoic and Cenozoic strata. He published more than 670 scientific research articles in his lifetime. He was also the pioneer of China's natural history museums, having profound influences on their establishment and development. Yang Zhongjian has made extraordinary contributions to the study of geology and paleontology, the development of natural history museums, the personnel training and science popularization in China. |
