Abstract: |
Quantitative methods of museum visitor studies have become the main approach and even dominate in China nowadays, while narrative museology methods have been increasingly marginalized. Narrative is the group attribute of human beings. Narrative museology pays more attention to “perceivable history”. It could be a story, a song, a joke, a theory, a comment or a plan. Each case story can be perceived, can arouse emotional resonance, and can spread like a “virus pandemic” among the public through daily communication. Narrative museology is not museum narrative. It is based on the narrative of civilians and daily audience, which is a new methodology and epistemology. |
