| Abstract: |
| “Felix” arithmometer was widely used before the invention of electronic computer. Through introducting a “Felix” arithmometer produced in Russia during early 1920s, this paper traced the development history of arithmometers. And by regarding the “Felix” arithmometers as a kind of scientific instrument reflecting national scientific, technological and manufacturing levels, this paper also elaborated the important role arithmometers played in social production at its time. |
