Abstract: |
Natural objects are essential resources for human life and serve as a medium for people to learn about nature and its environment. By examining their inner properties, we have gained a better understanding of how these objects evolved, what they're made of, and where they're found. This knowledge has expanded the scope and depth of their utilization, while also helping us understand our own living environment in the natural world. This significance has driven the systematic collection of natural specimens, establishing them as one of the main categories of museum collections. Although the information in natural objects exists independently of human influence, our perception and interpretation shape their meaning. Since natural objects are understood by categorizing them, they are often displayed as specimens in collections. Living objects, in particular, undergo de-animation to retain an authenticity that distinguishes them from human-made artifacts. |
