Abstract: |
As public awareness on collection has been mature, and more emphasis on popularization of education over time, people not only collect the tangible objects with memory and knowledge as core values, but also move beyond a narrow vision of objects and go further to use pure phenomena without physical form as objects and materials for museum exhibitions, which give birth to the science centers and the intangible cultural heritage museum. This type of museum no longer uses specific “objects”, but a certain “phenomenon” as the main body of the exhibits. The phenomena must reappear through specialized creative and designed exhibits, so that they can be observed, sensed and understood. By producing the exhibits for explaining and disseminating knowledge and culture, there is a challenge that lies in the ideas and techniques for exhibition design. It must solve the problems of phenomena visibility, dynamic expressions of the phenomena, and the cause and effect relationship during the process of phenomena. These are not limited to the science centers and the intangible cultural heritage museums. The same issues apply to various contemporary museums that seek to visualize the internal meanings of objects and their external environments, forcing them to transform their exhibition halls from simply displaying objects to co-existing objects and phenomena. |
