Abstract: |
As the role of education becomes more and more important in museums, museum shows a strong emphasis on it by developing and offering a variety of educational programs. But it is noteworthy that educational elements of exhibitions are not effectively presented or failed to interconnect with educational programs. Educators have been always excluded from the curating teams, which led to difficulties of realizing the educational value of exhibitions in China. The vision of combining exhibition with education is still a long-term task. The concept of Edu-curator was first proposed in the 2017 Annual Meeting of American Alliance of Museums. Since then, various social elites, such as educators, participants of exhibition designing, have gradually contributed to the formation and popularization of visitor-centered cooperative curating modes among American museums. This phenomenon provides a useful reference and practical enlightenment to domestic museums. |
