美国数字化自然历史藏品在STEM本科教育中的应用

摘要:
随着数字化和云服务技术的普及,数字化资源具有的教学和科研价值不可估量。在大数据时代,美国STEM高等教育将数字化自然历史藏品纳入课程体系,围绕数字化资源开展课程模块设计,形成基于探究的学习、基于实验的学习和基于真实情境的学习模式,以学生为中心进行教学实践。自然历史标本的数字化为教学、科研提供丰富的跨区域生物学、生态学信息,实验所得数据反之进一步充实数据库内涵,实现跨学科和跨机构的合作机制。

Abstract:
With the popularization of digital technology and cloud service, digital resources have the immeasurable value for teaching and researching. In the big data era, American educators endeavor to incorporate digital natural history collection into curriculum of STEM undergraduate education, to design curricular modules basing on digital resources, to develop inquiry-based, experiment-based, situation-based learning models, and student-centered teaching practice. Digitalization of natural history collection can provide cross-regional biological and ecological information for teaching and researching. At the same time, experiment data can enrich the database, as well as can contribute to achieving the cross-disciplinary and cross-institutional cooperative mechanism.
