Abstract:
According to the ICOM definition of a museum (2007 version), education is identified as the primary purpose of museums. And the objects of being collected, protected, researched, disseminated and exhibited are defined as “the material and intangible heritage of human beings and the human environment”. From this perspective, the most important value of scientific and technological collections/exhibits lies in the natural, scientific, historical and cultural information they carry. Thus, to research, display and disseminate the information is the basic starting point of work in science and technology museums. Also aiming to achieve the core goal of science education, those museums should reveal the “intangible scientific and cultural heritage”, which is the relationship between “objects” and “people”, to the public.
